Alex City man arrested in Auburn for possession of a controlled substance | Crime

On Friday, August 31, 2012 the Auburn Police Division arrested Mark L. Boyd, age 48, of Alexander City, Alabama, and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Substance.  At approximately 8:30 p.m. this same date officers conducted a vehicle stop on a GMC Sierra pickup truck being driven by Boyd in the parking lot of a business located near the intersection of Opelika Road and East University Drive.  Boyd was the lone occupant of the vehicle.  Officers observed a plastic bag on the back seat of the vehicle and upon searching the bag about 650 Lortab pills were found.  Boyd was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Detention Center where his bond was set at $3,000.  He was released later Friday night after posting bond.
